It's taken me three years, but I finally have my new recorder.

It's incredibly difficult to come back here.  I always feel I need to have some earth shattering revelation
before I can update this journal.  It's as if I don't realize I have nothing to say until I log on to this
damned site. (Only I would turn this little journal between friends into yet another reason to drink.)
Life is mundane,  plagued by routine, shorter than we all think and yet I can happily go day to day
to day to day, unless of course I actualy sit down and think about it. "I can't stand my own mind."
I think I finally understand what Ginsberg was saying.

 This brings me to something I was racking my brain over, a question, a simple question. "What are your dreams?" Now don't start thinking I'm getting soft in the middle, but this is a question we all take too
lightly. Everyone has atleast one dream, some are short term, others seem to be impossible
and forever out of reach.  In fact, just by reading this, you probably can picture your dream right now.
And that's all well and good. But! Have you ever written it down? Have you written any ideas or
stratigies you might use in order to attain your dream? I swear, I never had such a hard time writing anything.
It's so nice and warm and pleasing to think about a dream, maybe play out a few different scenarios, nothing
too serious. But, when you actaully have to put it to paper, when you really lay it out, it's scary.
I'm almost terrofied to write out my dreams, as long as they rest inside my head, they really can't do any
harm. God forbid I ever tell anyone about them! Finalizing something like a dream is difficult but in the end rewarding.

 I'm putting myself into action, I'm tired of standing idly by. I'm sick to death of the "poor man's" thinking.
I refuse to believe people of power and prestige are different than you and I.
"Well, that's them, but I'm me." That phrase will kill any dream and any desire you might have had.


I want to be all things to all men.

Regret nothing.

Damn, I'm way too tired to fully answer that question.

But, the simple answer is 'not enough'.

Long Live Ecko

Ok, the day finally came. I entered into this guitar competition over a month ago,
and now I actually have to play. This is of course just the preliminary, but if I don't
win here I go home empty handed...besides my handful of shame.
This contest is set up to go through a prelimanary round, districts, regionals
and finally nationals. I need to do well because I need a car and my ego needs inflating.
And nothing inflates a persons ego like being THE GREATEST GUITAR PLAYER IN THE COUNTRY!
Anyway, when I signed up I always made it easy on myself by saying I have over a month to
prepare and play. I went from that to saying I have less than a month...I have 2 weeks... I have one week...I have..Oh fuck the competiontion is tonight?!

I guess I better start practicing.

Damn, where have I been?

Does that really make a woman off limits?

Because Goddamn if I don't have one chasing me around.

I'm hesitant to act because of the obvious reasons.

I had an awesome vacation that is now over...but atleast I got to spend a week in Marco Island. The whole city is one HUGE resort, atleast the part of it that I saw. I stayed in the nicest hotel I have ever been in or seen, no continental breakfast though...cheap bastards. But it did have two pools, hot tubs, tennis courts, Golf Courses, Private beaches and some awesome Sail Boats, catamarans(sp?) and jet skiSSSS!!!
All in all it was a great week, but that fact makes going back to work even harder.

I have to work a whole week of doubles.

My little night job turns into a full-time position for 6 days straight,

atleast the money will be good. THE $$$!


I'll miss my Halloween fun too...
